About #CraveCompassion

Each year, Algonquin college’s public relations students get

together to make a difference in their community. This year

the students have chosen to support the cause of food

security through the Ottawa Food Bank.

Food is a basic human right and no one should have to go

hungry. Food and craving that is satisfied with a nutritious

meal, is a true definition of compassion. #CraveCompassion is

a message to the community to come together to support

the mission of providing food to all. Interesting and engaging

campaigns spread across genres like wellness, health and

fitness, painting, gaming and cooking, are being organized to

raise funds and awareness for the food bank.

The current times of the pandemic have only increased the need for food security. The OFB has provided its member agency programs with a combined total of $650,000 in financial support to help with their growing needs at this time. We need to showcase our compassion to support the growing need for food security in our city.
